CleanFerry volunteers

Hi all, been a while since we last communicated out but since the loss of our dear friend David we have been working away quietly and made a few developments.

We are a group of volunteers working to reduce the amount of litter and discarded rubbish in and around South Queensferry.
Other activities include maintaining public paths and green spaces by cutting back overgrown vegetation, trimming hedges and pruning overhanging trees.

Over the course of the year our volunteers gather in small groups for organised ‘litter blitzs’ to target specific areas requiring attention.
In between this our volunteers also look after their own patch around where they live. We work in conjunction with City of Edinburgh Council Task Force on Burgess Road who dispose of all our collections safely and responsibly. We also work closely with our Primary Schools supporting their Eco Programmes and presenting the importance of conserving the local environment and recycling.

CleanFerry recently became a Society with a constitution and a committee of three. Safety is our priority so we provide litter pickers, gloves, bags, hi-viz vests and all our volunteers are covered by public liability insurance.

We want CleanFerry to grow and would welcome new volunteers. Help us make the difference, click on the blue box (send email button on our Facebook page) and send us your details. You will be made very welcome.
