SCOTTISH TRUNK ROAD NETWORK MANAGEMENT CONTRACT – SOUTH EAST UNIT M90 SOUTH OF SCOTSTOUN SB CS228 – OVERNIGHT RESURFACING WORKS

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is planning to undertake essential retexturing works on the M90 south of the Scotstoun junction southbound. Please find enclosed the location plan for clarity.
The works on the M90 south of Scotstoun southbound, are provisionally programmed to commence on Saturday 12th March for a duration of 2 nights between the hours of 8:00 pm and 06:00 am. All traffic management will be removed out with working hours.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public it is necessary to close the M90 south of Scotstoun in the southbound direction.
During this period of closure, a signed diversion route will be in place, via the A90, A902 (Maybury Road) and the A8 (Glasgow Road)before re-joining the M9 at Newbridge roundabout. This diversion will add an estimated 11 minutes and 6 miles to affected journeys. A plan showing the diversion route has been included for clarity. Access to emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
The safety of maintenance workers remains a top priority during these essential projects and strict physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government guidance, will be in place to ensure all on-site personnel remains safe throughout the duration of the project. Robust risk assessments have also been completed to ensure all staff are kept safe.
