M90 Resurfacing at Kirkliston

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, are planning to carry out essential resurfacing works on the southbound carriageway of the M90 at Kirkliston, between junction 1 of the M90 and junction 1A on the M9. Please find the enclosed location plan for clarity.

The works have been provisionally programmed to commence on Monday 19th April 2021 for a duration of three nights between the hours of 8:00pm and 6:00am each night. All traffic management will be removed out with working hours.

Unfortunately, we have no option but to close the southbound carriageway to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public on the above dates and times, therefore a signed diversion route will be in place for traffic travelling southbound via Junction 1 of the M90, the A90, the A902 (Maybury Road) to the Gogar roundabout and along the A8 (Glasgow Road) to junction 1 of the M9. The noted diversion route will add an estimated 13 minutes and 6.9 miles to affected journeys. A location plan showing this diversion route has been attached. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

The safety of maintenance workers remains a top priority during these essential projects and strict physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government guidance, will be in place to ensure all on-site personnel remain safe throughout the duration of the project. Robust risk assessments have also been completed to ensure all staff are kept safe.

Kind Regards
