Supporting Ukrainians
Ukrainians in Queensferry is a local group set up to identify what we as a community can do to support families and their hosts if any families from Ukraine move to the area. Support can vary widely from
friendship to translation to transport. While some hosts will want to do much of this themselves
others may be working and unable to support full time. We do not seek to match families or provide facilities as such, we only seek to provide links to existing and emerging local support services.
Queensferry Care Since 1993, Queensferry Care has been dedicated to providing high quality support services to older people and their carers in South Queensferry, Ratho, Ratho Station, Dalmeny, Newbridge and Kirkliston. People with dementia; life-limiting illnesses; those experiencing social isolation and carers are supported to remain active and connected within their own communities. Through access to Day Opportunities people can choose a varied programme of activities within their home, our centre or their community. Older people can also access our Supper Club and Befriending services. QCCC offers a wide range of volunteering opportunities within the communities we support. |

Young People
Port Edgar Watersports CIC was set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC) limited by guarantee because we want to use the Centre to make a positive social difference in the world. As a social enterprise our:
- Focus is on using the Centre to support disadvantaged adults and young people living in Scotland. We have a specific focus on people who are homeless and those with experience of the care system in Scotland, but we welcome anyone who could use watersports to move towards a more positive future.
- Assets are locked into the business.
- Profits are reinvested back into the company to ensure we offer everyone a high quality experience and to achieve our social aims.
- We are signed up to The Code – Voluntary Code of Practice for Social Enterprise in Scotland.
Much more to be added…..
