Women’s Safety in Public Spaces Consultation

• Women’s Safety in Public Spaces Consultation is live

Although, the consultation is called ‘Women’s Safety in Public Places’ anyone over the age of 13 is very welcome to respond.

Following on from the recent high-profile case of violence against women Edinburgh’s Women’s Safety in Public Places Community Improvement Partnership want your views on what makes you feel safe or unsafe when out and about in public spaces.

Where do you feel safe or unsafe, and why? What do you think makes some areas and places feel safe or unsafe? What do you do to help make you feel safer?

While focused mainly on the safety of women and girls, we want to hear from anyone who lives of visits the Edinburgh area. We recognise that making spaces safer for women, makes them safer for everyone.

Your responses will help to inform the future of how we develop and improve public spaces across the whole of the Edinburgh area, from the design of roads and pathways to the layout of parks and shopping areas and more.

The consultation is open until 20 September 2022. The partnership will report on findings later in 2022.
