M90/A90 planned overnight closures from 24/03/23

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is planning to carry out essential resurfacing works on the M90/ A90 Trunk Road. Please find the enclosed location plans for clarity.

The works have been provisionally programmed to commence on Friday 24th March 2023 for a duration of 2 nights between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 each night. No works will be undertaken on Saturday or Sunday nights.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public it is necessary to close this section of road on the M90 during the works. During this period of closure, signed diversion routes will be in place, please see the diversion drawing attached and details below.

Motorway Traffic, heading to the M9 at Newbridge will be diverted west onto the A904, turn left onto the A803 and join the M9 eastbound at Jct 3. This will add an estimated 12 minutes to affected journeys.

Non-Motorway Traffic heading from Queensferry to Edinburgh via the A90 will be diverted East onto the A904, then heading onto the B800 through Kirkliston, left onto the A89 heading to Junction 3 Newbridge Roundabout. From there traffic will follow the A8 then turn left at Maybury Road and rejoin the A90 from there. This Diversion would add an estimated 15 minutes to affected journeys. It should be noted that the Non Motorway Diversion has a maximum height restriction of 4.6m.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times and all traffic management will be removed out with working hours.
