Dear stakeholder,
I am writing to update you on our repair to a burst rising sewer main in South Queensferry.
You will recall approximately 120m of pipe needs to be replaced on Gote Lane and along the beach.
The first phase – on Gote Lane – is progressing well under a road closure, and we expect to have completed this part of the project by Christmas.
We have now secured an emergency marine license to replace the sewer along the beach between Stepps pumping station and the Stag Head car park and work is already underway. This section of shoreline will be cordoned off (at low tide) on safety grounds and we are also hoping to complete this phase of the project by Christmas, subject to weather and tides.
We will have tankers on site on the mornings of Thursday 12 December and Friday 13 December to allow the team to make the necessary upgrades to Stepps pumping station.
There will be some localised parking restrictions in place throughout the works, but local businesses will be open as usual and pedestrian access maintained at all times.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We will be in touch again when we have more information. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Matt
