SCOTTISH TRUNK ROAD NETWORK MANAGEMENT CONTRACT – SOUTH EAST UNIT

M90/Queensferry Crossing Jct 1A-Jct 1B Closure Overnight on Saturday 26 March 2022.

Trial Diversion over the Forth Road Bridge/A9000.

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, isplanning to carry out a trial diversion route over the Forth Road Bridge via the M90 on and off-slips at Jcts 1A and 1B. Please find the enclosed location plan for clarity.

The works have been provisionally programmed to commence on Saturday 26th March 2022 for a duration of one overnight between the hours of 2000 and 0800 hours.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public it is necessary to close the Queensferry Crossing during the works.

During this period of closure, a signed diversion route will be in place via the Forth Road Bridge/A9000. A location plan showing the diversion routes is attached. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times and all traffic management will be removed out with working hours.

In order to take advantage of this closure, a number of other works are being planned including carriageway lining, carriageway lighting, overhead gantry inspections and fault rectification. These additional works will be carried out in partnership with BEAR Scotland, Amey and FCBC.

The safety of maintenance workers remains a top priority during these essential projects and strict physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government guidance, will be in place to ensure all on-site personnel remain safe throughout the duration of the project. Robust risk assessments have also been completed to ensure all staff are kept safe.
