Following on from recent high-profile case of violence against women, Edinburgh’s Women’s Safety in Public Places Community Improvement Partnership wants people’s views on what makes them feel safe or unsafe when out and about in public spaces.
They want to know about locations across the Edinburgh area where people feel safe or unsafe, and why. They also want to explore what makes people think some places feel safe or unsafe, and what might make them feel safer.
While focused mainly on the safety of women and girls, the partnership wants to hear from anyone who lives of visits the Edinburgh area. We recognise that making spaces safer for women, makes them safer for everyone.
Responses will help to inform the future of how we develop and improve public spaces across the whole of the Edinburgh area, from the design of roads and pathways to the layout of parks and shopping areas and more.

The consultation is open until Tue 20 Sep 2022. The partnership will report on findings later in 2022.
